With over 30 years of elementary classroom teaching experience, Kira has dedicated her career to teaching young learners and building strong foundations in both reading and writing.  For the past 10 years, she has also tutored privately for elementary-aged students, specializing in early literacy development.  She has spent many years teaching first grade and has worked extensively with kindergarten students to support their transition into elementary school.  She is a certified Orton-Gillingham instructor bringing a structured, research-based approach to reading instruction.  In addition to her 5 years of teaching at the university level through Antioch University, she has co-authored books and curriculum designed to enhance reading and writing instruction for elementary students. Kira also has a great deal of experience tutoring the ERB and the ISEE.
